Society Involvement in Social Responsibility

Developed countries around the world have introduced projects to upgrade people’s economy. The adult based project is such a project aimed at improving a community’s standard of living and empowers the less fortunate. By mentioning the less fortunate, it refers to those who have the capability to work and do useful things in their community but don’t have the opportunities.

Before such projects are carried out in a community, there has to be a serious feasibility study which then may be recommended through the agreement of their leaders depending on the community. Most of the projects are initiated by non-governmental organizations, charitable organizations and the government. 

Most of the people who live in these active retirement communities are ones who have retired. With this, it does not mean that only retired people live in these communities. This is not true although there are some which only people above the age of 55 can live there. These communities have specific objectives that range from adult education to retirement programs. 

Some of the drawbacks that face such programs are difference in opinion, lack of togetherness and unity. There is also the issue of conflict due to finances allocation that hinders the progress of such developments. These are by far the enemy of community development.

The advent of community programs was noble and still is but unfortunately every good gesture is accompanied by a shadow of negative implications. Funding is a key component of any community project and these attracts unscrupulous characters and false interests. Corruption has plagued this decent area of public service and created negative perceptions concerning the same.

In areas where vices have been overcome these programs have greatly improved the living standards of the people and the community at large. Specific projects by the government that were never realized have also been completed without relying heavily on government input. This has saved numerous governments some considerable chunk of money to be utilized in other high priority sectors.

The main benefit derived from such projects is creation of jobs and training of local people. The importation of skills into a community through training has empowered people who are now able to start their own projects and diligently oversee them. The net effect is a better community that is able to take care of its own needs.

For instance the emergence of retirees’ community projects has been on the rise. These projects were started to primarily invest members’ retirement money into worthwhile schemes. In some cases, these schemes became international companies doing what no one thought possible.

Projects of this kind can be a community’s lifeline if well adopted. The only prerequisite would be to justify its development and involvement of all stakeholders. This will aid in weeding out the crafty scammers or the so called freelance briefcase con men.

The only way to feel part of the community is to get involved in the ideology of the projects. There are people who do volunteer services that help in society upgrading. This contribution is definitely a major plus to the community.
